The gaze, enchanted from the first moment, ranges from the Marmolada glacier, through the mountainous bastions of Setsas, Col di Lana and Civetta, pausing on the rocky walls of the majestic Sella Group... The panorama here, at Ütia Crëp de Munt, at 2000 m a.s.l., is a show of those that are imprinted, indelible, in the memory!
But it's not just joy for the sight... The energy and creativity of the new owners, the Niederkofler brothers, have transformed the refuge, in recent years, into a truly special place, where the best traditions of mountain hospitality are preserved and where typical Ladin recipes take on a second life. It is no coincidence that the symbol of the refuge is the chamois, one of the smartest, fastest and most graceful animals in the Dolomites.
Easily accessible from Corvara and from Passo Campolongo, the Crëp de Munt refuge is located directly on the ski slopes and on the hiking trails.
During the summer and winter seasons, we are open every day for lunch, while dinner at the refuge with the spectacle of the sunset in the mountains can be enjoyed, upon reservation, in summer, daily (shuttle from Planac) and, in winter , every Tuesday (ascent with skins or snowshoes).
Not to be missed – our cheerful parties with live music, including the Ski Carousel Vintage Party for the closing of the winter season and the great Festa dla Munt de Boè at the end of the summer season!
Path 27A which climbs from the Planac locality for almost 2 km through the wooded slopes until it takes path 639, which leads to the Refuge. For a gentler climb, which can also be done with a stroller, turn after the first 200 m onto the dirt road, which winds gradually through the shade of the wood. Duration approx. 1 h Path 639 which starts from the valley station of the Boè cable car. In a succession of woods, pastures and alpine meadows you arrive at Crëp de Munt after just over 3 kilometres. Duration 1 h 30 min To shorten the ascent and conserve energy, take advantage of the Boè cable car, which takes you just above the Ütia. To reach us from the top station, a short descent along path 639 is enough. Duration 30 mins from Passo Campolongo heading towards the imposing Piz Boè. To reach us, take the variant 638A which then joins path 639. Duration 1 h path 645, which starts from Colfosco, passing by the Crëp de Sela viewpoint. 5 kilometers long, this path at the foot of the walls of the Sella Group is absolutely perfect for feeling at one with the splendid alpine scenery. The views of the graceful volutes of the Sassongher and the town of Corvara with the highest peaks of the Dolomites in the background are priceless. The flavors of typical Ladin cuisine
Supervised personally by one of the two brother-owners, chef Michael Niederkofler, the cuisine of the Ütia Crëp de Munt refuge is full of genuine and unique flavours. A native of Alta Badia, chef Michael is careful to reconcile the typical recipes of this ancient land with local ingredients of the highest quality, giving you the unmissable opportunity to savor authentic Ladin cuisine that goes far beyond the usual canederli and eggs with speck . At the Crëp de Munt you can also taste the traditional dishes which, nowadays, are increasingly rare, such as, for example, the various types of turtres, the föies da soni (potato pancakes), the cajincì arstis (ravioli fried), hay soup and much more. Special menus, such as game menus (deer, roe deer), enrich our gastronomic offer according to the season.
Following the traditions of home cooking, we not only make fresh pasta at home, but also speck, elderberry juice, various semifreddi, ice cream and grappa - specialties of the other brother, Thomas. The game, on the other hand, is procured by the mother Erica Pescollderungg (owner of the Rifugio Pralongià) and by the mother-in-law Rosa Call, both excellent and passionate hunters, whose trophies adorn the walls of the Ütia.
Every meal at Ütia Crëp de Munt is, without a doubt, an extraordinary experience. Try to believe!
Summer in Alta Badia
Alta Badia is the ideal destination for an escape from the torrid city summers towards the Dolomites, one of the most exciting natural landscapes in the world. Unique and incredibly varied, Alta Badia prepares unforgettable sporting, cultural and culinary experiences for you in summer, which can be fully enjoyed at the Ütia Crëp de Munt refuge, open for you from mid-June to the end of September.
The charm of the Gruppo del Sella is the backdrop for our refuge and inspires many activities in its vicinity, including walks, excursions, mushroom picking and mountain bike tours. Several paths, easy enough for a walk with children, wind through forests and pastures towards Ütia, starting from Corvara (there is also the possibility of going up with the Boè cable car), from Passo Campolongo and from Planac, famous for its panoramic golf course, one of the highest in Europe. But, just above the Crëp de Munt, the landscape changes radically - gentle slopes covered by woods and alpine meadows give way to the steep scree and cliffs of the Sella Group dominated by the imposing Piz Boè. This is the stage for those who want to challenge the mountain on via ferrata and climbing routes.
Whatever activity you prefer, Alta Badia will not disappoint you!
Winter in Alta Badia
Skiing and snowboarding, hiking and snowshoeing, freeriding and ski mountaineering - these are just some of the countless winter activities that can be practiced in Alta Badia, in the enchanting Dolomites, cloaked in sparkling white snow.
The Crëp de Munt refuge, open from the beginning of December to mid-April, boasts an excellent location and an ideal environment for enjoying a little well-deserved relaxation among the various sporting entertainments. You will find us directly at the mountain station of the homonymous ski lift, on the slopes that are part of a variant of the famous Sellaronda ski circuit - a magnificent tour around the Sella Group through the ski areas of Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa and Arabba, with a single Dolomiti Superski ski pass.
After pleasant efforts on skis and snowboards, it is a real joy to unwind on our sunny terrace, admiring the panorama of the snowy Dolomites, reminiscing about your adventures with friends and enjoying the warm delicacies of typical Ladin cuisine, developed over the centuries to help recover forces in the mountains in the best way.
