It rises below Alpe Fellaria del Sasso Moro, in a dominant position on the artificial basin of Lake Campo Gera. From the refuge, the sixth stage of the Alta Via della Valmalenco, you can enjoy a wide view of the Bocchetta di Caspoggio, Pizzo Varuna, the Fellaria Glacier, Sasso Rosso and Monte Spondascia.
Built in the years 1955/56, the refuge was donated by Clementina Agretti-Bignami to the Milan Section in memory of her son Roberto Bignami, councilor of the Section and who in 1954 lost his life during the Italian expedition on Mount Api (7120 m) in the Garhwal-Himalaya .
From Chiesa Valmalenco you reach Lanzada 983 m, then Franscia 1565 m, finally reaching the Campo Moro dam 1934 m and the subsequent Gera dam, where it is possible to park. On foot, go up and cross the dam on the left and then follow an easy path that leads to the refuge (1.15 hours).
