The structure, renovated by the Municipality of Boccioleto, preserves the authenticity of the traditional local architecture in stone and wood. The refuge can only be reached on foot and is located in Località Rivetto, Alpe Seccio, in the municipality of Boccioleto (VC). A perfect place for those seeking tranquility, uncontaminated nature and an authentic welcome at high altitude!

Main excursions

The itinerary from Boccioleto to Alpe Seccio is rich in artistic testimonies distributed along the entire route, including the center of Boccioleto itself, the small churches of Ronchi, Ormezzano, Solivo, the Selletto chapel and above all the Church of Seccio, with frescoes from the first half of the 15th century. From the center of the village of Boccioleto, cross the town and take a comfortable mule track, signposted 387, which leads to the hamlet of Ronchi (814 m) which can also be reached by car and is therefore another starting point of the itinerary. The mule track winds through meadows and woods, until it reaches the chapel of Sassello (710 m) first and Ca Milanetto (768 m) afterwards, where we find the 15th-16th century chapel dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto. Passing other groups of houses you reach Ronchi (814 m), another starting point of this itinerary. Here we recommend a visit to the Oratory of the Madonna delle Grazie, a true jewel of art already mentioned in 1617. Continuing along the mule track we reach the chapel of Genestroso and then the hamlet of Ormezzano (964 m) and then that of Solivo (1027 m), in a panoramic position and where we can observe the oratory dedicated to Sant'Antonio da Padova and, opposite, the chapel of San Nicola. From here the mule track becomes steeper as it enters the woods, passing through Selletto (1208 m), where we find the chapel of the same name and subsequently crossing the Daloch and Sul Sasso Alps to reach Alpe Seccio at 1390 m, a large mountain pasture whose marginality with respect to the town of Boccioleto has given rise to a series of legends and traditions. Here stands a small church of considerable artistic importance, dating back to the 15th century and dedicated to San Lorenzo, according to some the oldest in Val Sermenza.
