Located in an astonishing position, perched over the Tigullio Gulf, the refuge is called Malga Zanoni because built in the same place where an old malga used to be. From its wide wooden terrace, when the sky is clear, you can enjoy the view of the ocean which you can reach in less than an hour; behind the park tracks climb up reaching the Alta via of Ligurian Mountains and the park circuits.
The Malga has been built following criteria of sustainability and evaluation of the local resources: energetically autonomous, electricity produced by photovoltaic system, warm water provided by solar panels and heatied by hydrothermal system in colder season. All the interiors and furniture are made by wood from the Aveto Valley.
The structure can host up to 24 guests divided into rooms for 2,5,6 or 8. All rooms provided with restroom, two for the largest ones.
The living room, heated by the fireplace, can host up to 32 guests, lunch or dinner; same option for the wide terrace.
The menu is mainly based on biological or local products, supporting small local entities active in evaluating the local territory.

By public transport:
from Chiavari train station catch bus 12 and get off at Zanoni. Here link to timetables. From Zanoni walk toward Zanoni Superiore following B&B Shanti House directions; proceed on the dirt track; after a short rise, overtake the abandoned village of Poragine on your left, take a left turn proceeding on dirt track till you reach Malga Zanoni (1 hour CA.)
By car:
Take A12 highway, exit Lavagna. At the end of the ramp take a right toward Borzonasca -santo Stefano d’aveto; passed the village take a right toward Borzone and Sopralacroce; after a hundred meters take a left turn toward Sopralacroce for a dozen kilometres overtaking Sopralacroce, Zanoni, Vallepietra and Belvedere; after a couple of hairpins, on your left, you will find a dirt open space where to park. Leave the car and proceed by feet following the colored dots or the signs on the ground of the park circuit. You reach the Malga Zanoni in 45 minutes.
